Breeding and Boarding

At Fountain Oaks Alpacas, we are committed to a responsible breeding program with a focus on genetic quality and improvement of the herd, at the same time preserving and safeguarding the health of all animals involved.

Breeding options

We're happy to work with you to determine the best course for breeding your females. We offer options including boarding your female at Fountain Oaks with her cria for the duration of the breeding and confirmation process; drive-by breeding, where you bring your female to the farm to be serviced and then take her home; or a mobile mating where we bring the herdsire to your female. We welcome the chance to discuss your specific objectives for breeding and to help chart a course to meet your goals.

Boarding ("agisting") your alpacas

Whether you need a short-term care solution for your alpacas, or you're an offsite owner looking for a permanent home, we offer top-quality agistment for one or for your whole herd. Plenty of clean, grassy pastures with cross-fencing allow animals to be segregated by gender, age, breeding status, medical needs or other reasons, and daily observations ensure that animals are eating properly and not developing problems. We'll handle the day-to-day care and you're welcome to visit your animals any time.

We will also assist you with showing or selling your alpacas, and manage your herdsire's breeding schedule. A breeding fee discount is offered for breeding your boarded females to any of our wholly-owned herdsires.
